Virtual Tape Recall Analysis
The Virtual Tape Recall Analysis utility is available to determine how much time is being spent on virtual tape library recalls. The SMF extractor which can be downloaded below is a utility you can use to extract SMF records associated with your IBM VTS or STK VSM recall activity. The extracted SMF records are then emailed to OpenTech Systems to be analyzed. Reports will be generated and emailed back to you for review. You will then be able to determine the potential return on investment of using VTAR to eliminate the recalls and quantify the potential reduction in your batch cycle processing.
